Cliffs at Mountain Park & Cliffs at Keowee Springs

The SC Golf Course Ratings Panel has been extended an invitation to visit two of the Upstate's highly regarded courses:
Sunday, November 3:
Cliffs at Mountain Park & Cliffs at Keowee Springs
Monday, November 4:
Cliffs at Mountain Park & Cliffs at Keowee Springs

Cliffs at Mountain Park

From the Cliffs website: “I believe that Cliffs members and guests are in for a nice surprise, as our design at Mountain Park is very different than any other course in The Cliffs Communities. We had a stunning valley and relatively flat riverside property to work with, which enabled us to create a hard and fast design that allows for all kinds of shots, particularly around the greens. It is also a walking course, which fits nicely into my passion for fitness.” -Gary Player

Set along the banks of the North Saluda River, the river course design takes full advantage of its surroundings: fourteen holes play along the river and mountain ridgelines are accentuated throughout. The bump-and-run style fits perfectly with the topography of the land and Player’s choice of Zoysia grass on the fairways, Bermuda grass on the greens and the use of native grasses and landscape materials throughout the course highlight his passion for conservation.

Cliffs at Keowee Springs

From the Cliffs website: “Top 10 Best New Private Course” – GOLF Magazine
The Keowee Springs golf course is the second Tom Fazio golf design available to Cliffs members and one of his most scenic and uniquely designed. It incorporates three loops of six holes and a set of family tees to provide a flexibility of play that is second to none.

The 7,100-yard, par-72 course at Keowee Springs combines Bermuda grass fairways and rough with Eagle tee areas and Bentgrass greens. It offers the low-handicapper a challenge, the high-handicapper a manageable set, and all golfers a gentle, rolling mountainside layout. Designed to return to the Clubhouse or Turnhouse in six-hole intervals, the family-friendly course provides family tees, but experienced golfers should not be fooled. The back tees are every bit the championship golf experience.

Complementing the golf course is the state-of-the-art practice area. The two-acre short game area has two chipping greens and a putting green totaling over 18,000-square-feet. The 6.5-acre driving range has more than one acre of teeing area on each end to practice.

Our current SCGCRP ranking of "The 50 Best Courses in SC" has Keowee Springs listed at #33.
